Research interest

Research and Innovation Group in Oriental Herbs and Medicinal Mushrooms, (OHMM), is an international leader in vegan cordyceps cultivation, research, and innovative products. Since our group was established in 2014, we have engaged in scientific research to evaluate integrative therapies focusing on the prevention of inflammatory diseases such as allergic rhinitis, and age-related diseases such as hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and hypertension. The recipes for complementary prevention or treatments are based on the traditional formulas which are re-generating by new preparation processes and techniques. OHMM mission is to promote the use of herbal as food for well-being, instead of taking medicine.
To date, we successfully received 4 petty patents, and one was commercialization. OHMM performed research from start to finish. We have a farm to cultivate vegan C. militaris for use in research and development of products. We have established the standards for safety and quality controls of cordyceps goods. The clinical trials have been done with the help of the clinician teams and business partners. Our works are out of the research dead valley, at the end of the day, all the work can be reached at least the Technology Readiness Level 7 (TRL 7).
As a mission of the entrepreneurial university to reach Thailand 4.0; the innovation-driven economic model, we have proposed a new research area focused on the use of C. militaris to promote the health of senior citizens and treat the age-related diseases. These bold ideas are based on the fact that, the safety and efficacy of cordyceps have been confirmed. Our previous research on innate immunity of senior citizens reveals that efficacy of the of innate immune cells against infectious diseases, are losing with age increase. The host-interaction between innate immunity and infection must be explored. Our major financial supports come from Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC) for Food and Medicines. We are expecting that with in the year 2025.
