Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital has set the topics of “Area of Excellence in Research” based on the following criteria:
• It is a niche for the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital
• It is a health problem of local and global concern
• It is a unique health problem for Thailand
• It is a research topic listed in the national and Mahidol University policy
• It is a research topic for which Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital has a collaboration with other national and international research institutions
• It is a research topic of interest for a national and international funding agency
• It is a research topic that has a potential for commercial application
• It is a multidisciplinary research topic among departments within Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital
• It is a topic that has clear research plans and output goals over the next four years
One area of excellence in research could have several research networks and one
research network usually has many research projects.
