          1. How to apply for a liver transplantation:
                    1.1 Receive a physical examination by a liver transplantation surgeon
                    1.2 Have your blood examined for blood group, viruses, liver function, etc.                     1.3 Receive special examinations as ordered by the doctor
                    1.4 Receive advice and information on the regulations for waiting for organ donations from the coordinating nurse of Siriraj Organ Transplantation Center on the 2nd floor of the 84th Anniversary Building, Siriraj Hospital
                    1.5 Fill in the application

          2. Liver management
                    The Center for Organ Donation of the Thai Red Cross will arrange placement of a liver to a patient whose blood group matches with the blood group of the donor according to the organ of the hospital member. When Siriraj Hospital receives an offer for an organ, the organ transplantation Division will select a patient for transplantation based on the results of physical and laboratory examinations.

          3. The cost of a liver transplantation
                    The cost is approximately 150,000 -300,000 baht for the operation. It may be higher if the patient has additional needs. After the operation the patient will have to take immunosuppressive drugs throughout his life for which the cost is approximately 15,000-30,000 baht per month.
          4. The right of health plan that a patient can use for a liver transplantation
                    4.1 Government officials can have the payment reimbursed according to the regulations of the Ministry of Finance
                    4.2 A private health insurance will cover costs as specified in the policy
                    4.3 At present the universal coverage scheme and social security do not cover the costs of a liver transplantation.
