     The Bangkok Biomaterial Center under the royal patronage of HRH Princess Galayani Vadhana was founded to help- patients who suffer from bone and tissue problems. These problems are increasing more and more in the country and a number of these problems need to be operated.

     Bone and Tissue Donation for Medical Use
     1. It is not as complicated to donate bone and tissue as many people may think it is. Most people may think that the donation of bone is complicated and a waste of time. However, if you take a second to think, you will see that there are a number of patients waiting for your help. “Please come and donate your bone and tissue to help your human friends”
      2. The significance of bone and tissue donation Your donations are very significant to the patient’s life both for his health and his quality of life. They can help patients to live happily in the society without being a burden to their families.
      3. What to do after the donor deceased .
           • Call the Bangkok Biomaterial Center within 24 hours at 02-4197000 ext 4501, 6795-6
           • Do not inject the deceased with formalin 4. Donating bone and tissue to be transplanted to another person can be done by:
           • Willing to donate when a relative died
           • Registering to become a member by filling in the donor form and sending it back to the Center
           • Promoting donations by telling your friends about this activity and convincing them of the benefits “Please inform your family when you have decided to be a donor”

     Services in connection with bone and tissue to be used in an operation
     1. The doctor can request bone and tissue by filling in a request form or sending a letter detailing the patient’s information including the kinds of bone and tissue needed as well as x-ray films ( in case a larger piece of bone is needed ) and sending the letter to the Bangkok Biomaterial Center.
     2. Contact an officer for the date and time of the operation and bone transplantation, so the Center will make correct preparations.
     3. The Bangkok Biomaterial Center will manage the Bone service in a first come, first serve order and according to the urgency. In case a certain bone type required by the doctor is unavailable, the Center will immediately inform the doctor as soon as the required bone becomes available.
     4. When arriving to the receive the bone transplant, a hospital officer or the patient’s relatives have to prepare a container to put the bone in such as a foam box or an ice thermos big enough to hold the bone.
     5. Payments can be done by bringing the invoice to pay at the Finance Office, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital ( The payment may be eligible for reimbursement according to the Ministry of Finance’s regulations )
