Clinical Professor Udom Kachintorn stated a flash back comment upon the relationship between Thailand and the Rockefeller Foundation that was established upon the remarks and integrity of Prince Mahidol, who embarked as the representative of all Siamese, to elevate the quality of medical education in Thailand to collegiate levels. The Rockefeller foundation had agreed upon this request, and provided assistance by appointing numerous medical personnel to establish an academic and clinical structure of this particular discipline -- Professor A.G. Ellis who was known as the architect of Pathological Studies in Thailand was also among them. Moreover, the foundation also sponsored Thai medical and public health practitioners to study abroad. Nevertheless, the foundation also provided fundings in cohort with the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand and His Royal Highness personal donation, for the constructions of medical and research facilities in Siriraj.
The Rockefeller Foundation has been active in providing assistance to developing countries, including those in the ASEAN region. Therefore, the International Conference in Medicine and Public Health 2013" is a great remark in establishing a collaborative medical network for the ASEAN population.
